Ærkebiskop Eskil af Lund (ca. 1100 til 1181). Eskil var søn af Christiern Svensen og tilhørte den magtfulde jyske stormandsslægt Thrugotsønnerne. Thrugotsønnerne kæmpede i det 12. århundrede med Hvideslægten (hvortil den senere ærkebiskop Absalon hørte) om kongemagten i Danmark.

Eskil was an archbishop who restored the unity of the Danish church and championed its independence. A nephew of Asser, the first archbishop of Lund (now in Sweden) and thereby primate of Scandinavia, Eskil became bishop of Roskilde in 1134 and archbishop of Lund in 1138.
